As part of the Temple Bar 15 special exhibition at the Irish Architectural Archive, members of the renowned Group 91 consortium of architectural practices will present a series of talks giving an overview of their role and work in transforming Temple Bar as Dublins Cultural Quarter.
The opening talk on Tuesday 10th October by Shane OToole gave a fascinating overview of emerging ideas and trends in urbanism and architecture in the Ireland of the 1980s, and also explained how Group 91 came into existence and then went on to be selected to undertake the creation of a master plan for regenerating Temple Bar.
The remaining talks will focus on the thinking and contributions of the individual participants and will offer a remarkable insight into the genesis of iconic buildings and spaces including Meeting House Square, the Irish Film Centre, the Ark, Project Arts Centre and Temple Bar Square.
Admission is FREE and the talks take place every Tuesday until 28th November 2006. The talks begin at 1.15pm and end around 1.50pm.
BOOKING ESSENTIAL Places are strictly limited to 50. For booking and further information please contact the Archive at 01 6633040 or slincoln@iarc.ie
