TBG&S; artist Sonia Shiel awarded artists residency at HIAP, Helsinki�
Temple Bar Gallery and Studios (TBG&S) has just announced that artist Sonia Shiel is the recipient of the prestigious HIAP (Helsinki International Artist in Residency Programme) residency award.
The award is a result of a pilot partnership between TBG&S and HIAP. Shiel will represent TBG&S in the first stage of an artists exchange project between Ireland and Finland beginning in February 2007.
This exciting partnership between TBG&S and HIAP has been supported by Temple Bar Cultural Trust along with FRAME � Finnish Fund for Art Exchange, The Finnish Institute, Culture Ireland and The Arts Council.
HIAP provides support for artists worldwide to undertake new creative work in Helsinki.
In March 2007 Finnish artist Ulrika Ferm will take up a 3 month residency at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios. She will live in Temple Bar in one of Temple Bar Cultural Trusts artist apartments and work between Helsinki and Berlin.
