TBCT gets special award at Dublin Tourism Enterprise Awards for Temple Bar 15th Anniversary celebrations�..

At the fifth annual Dublin Tourism Enterprise Awards ceremony in Dublin Tourism�s HQ last night TBCT was presented with a special award in the category of Entertainment for the Temple Bar 15th anniversary programme of events.

TB15 included a wide range of newly commissioned work in drama and music featuring artists such as Cathal Ó Searcaigh, Maighréad Ní Dhomhnaill, West Ocean String Quartet and Fishamble Theatre Company; the live performance programme also featured a unique open air free performance by Seamus Heaney and Liam O�Flynn; another highlight was the inaugural Circus Season which included a newly commissioned work presented by Tumble Circus and TB15 concluded with a special photographic exhibition that ran at the Irish Architectural Archive from October 06 until March 07.

Welcoming the special award, TBCT Chief Executive Dermot McLaughlin said �We are delighted at this recognition of the quality and impact of out 2006 programme to mark our 15th birthday. The success of our programme shows the huge appetite that exists for top class cultural tourism products and Temple Bar Cultural Trust will continue to develop innovative ways of using the fantastic buildings and public spaces that we own and manage here in Dublin�s Cultural Quarter. 2007 will offer an even more diverse range of events to contribute to Dublin�s rich cultural calendar.�
