The Touring Experiment: Round 3 � Call for Expressions of Interest
The Arts Council is pleased to announce the third and final round of the Touring Experiment. The focus of Round 1 of this action research project was in the areas of Theatre and Dance. The range of art forms broadened in Round 2 to include Music, Visual Arts, Literature, Traditional Arts, Theatre and Dance.
The focus of the third and final round will be to prioritise art form areas which are underrepresented in terms of the action research project to date. Efforts will be made to increase the sample of the underrepresented artforms from the remaining budget. In line with previous rounds, final selection will be based on the research value of proposals assessed both individually and in comparison with others.
The Council�s priority areas for Round 3 include tours in the following artforms:
� Literature
� Traditional Arts
The Council also welcomes proposals in certain key areas in the following artforms:
� Dance
� Visual Arts � including Architecture
� Music
As theatre has been included in both Rounds 1 and 2 of the Touring Experiment, the Council feels that adequate representative research material will have been assimilated in regards to theatre touring from the tours supported to date. As a result, Theatre will not be included in Round 3.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest to take part in Round 3 of the Touring Experiment is Thursday 24th May 2007. The Expression of Interest form, along with guidelines, will be available to download from Tuesday 24th April in pdf and word format from the Touring Experiment website http://www.thetouringexperiment.ie Completed Expressions of Interest should be emailed to info@thetouringexperiment.ie no later than 5pm Thursday 24th May 2007.
The Arts Council has contracted Temple Bar Cultural Trust to manage The Touring Experiment based on its experience of managing publicly funded programmes for multi-artform touring.
