TEMPLE BAR CULTURAL TRUST LAUNCHES DIVERSIONS FESTIVAL � IRELAND�S LONGEST AND LARGEST FESTIVAL OF FREE OUTDOOR EVENTS

Stuck for something interesting to do this summer? Looking for alternative entertainment to help you escape the daily grind? Temple Bar Cultural Trust (TBCT) have announced details of the largest and longest DIVERSIONS FESTIVAL ever to keep you smiling, with three months of FREE, fun outdoor events for all the family!
Over �400,000 is being invested by TBCT to produce the Festival which runs from June until the end of August and will be the biggest celebration of arts and culture in the city. Audiences will have the chance to experience a world class cultural programme from outdoor movies, short films and special cinematic screenings to circus acts, music, opera and live performances.
This year�s Festival will involve the participation of over 100 performers from 12 different countries around the world and is expected to attract over 300,000 people. The Festival kicks off on Saturday 2nd June with a special screening of the 1925 classic Phantom of the Opera at Christchurch Cathedral which will feature a live improvised organ soundtrack to add to the unique atmosphere of the setting.
According to Gráinne Millar, Head of Cultural Development, Temple Bar Cultural Trust, �With this year�s Festival, we have created a programme of activities where there is literally something for everyone. We would encourage everybody to come down and enjoy the free events in Temple Bar throughout the summer and experience the culture, creativity and character of the area for themselves.�
All events are FREE however some are ticketed. A full programme of events is available for collection from Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre, 12 East Essex Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 or by logging on to www.templebar.ie. Release dates for ticketed events are listed in the festival programme and tickets can be collected in person from Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre.
So there�s no excuse for boredom this summer in the city � get down to Temple Bar for some fun diversions!
